Dear Charleston Brides and Grooms.
Reviews are enormously important to any business, and the wedding industry is no exception.
Thank you to all my wonderful couples that took the time to write wonderfully detailed reviews! It helps my wedding officiant business tremendously, and it also helps couples searching for a wedding officiant in Charleston! Seriously, I cannot thank you enough!
Did you know that the Wedding Pro Awards are directly linked to the reviews that a vendor receives??
What is it...
Wedding Wire - Couples' Choice Awards
The Knot - Best of Weddings
As a couple searching for a wedding vendor, should you consider the Awards the vendor receives from The Knot and Wedding Wire?
...
Yes, absolutely you should consider them, but you should understand how and why the awards are received by the vendors.
A Wedding Vendor who is listed on The Knot and The Wedding Wire is eligible for the Wedding Pro awards if they receive a certain number of reviews in the fiscal year. If a wedding vendor receives multiple 5 star reviews, that's amazing! That means they are the right wedding vendor for your wedding, right? Not necessarily...
READ THE REVIEWS and make sure the key words used in the review align with the vision for YOUR wedding!

The wedding vendor team you choose is essential for not only your wedding day to be executed the way you want, but also for the planning process to be enjoyable.
Think about it... how many hours, days, months, (years...) are you spending planning your wedding? Make sure the people you hire along the process are people that you gel with. Yes, it's important that the wedding vendor is good at their job, but this is such a personal day and experience for you as the couple. Surround yourself with a wedding vendor team whose work you love, and who you enjoy being around!

Here's an example...
As a Wedding Officiant in Charleston, I offer multiple different types of ceremonies, with personalization and customization options for couples. My couples are mostly looking for a non-religious, non-denominational ceremony, maybe with a sprinkle of a prayer. Or, my couples are looking to combine different backgrounds, religions, etc. My couples are NOT looking for an hour long ceremony, with a full church service. It's not in my wheelhouse. If it is important to you, as a couple, to get married in your childhood church, or by your minister... chances are, I am not your ideal wedding officiant. And that's fine!
If you read the details of the reviews my lovely couples have provided, the word "religious" will not appear... because that is not my type of ceremony.

"Custom", "personal", "energetic" ... this is more what you will see, and what I look to achieve as a Charleston Wedding Officiant.
Bonus Tip: Pay special attention to the reviews provided by fellow wedding vendors!
Think about it... You have your work friends, and the people you like to collaborate with most, right? Well, we as wedding vendors do too. If we have left a review for a fellow wedding vendor, chances are we worked with them multiple times, and love to work together! We are a close-knit group in Charleston!
Stay tuned for future blog post on this!
Sincerely,
A Charleston Wedding Officiant
